The Prompt: Freewrite for 3 minutes on this saying: Glory to God.
Glory to God. When I think of this, I picture angels in heaven singing with trumpets, and white shining robes, and angels of all different sizes and colors. Other things give God glory besides angels. All creation reflects his glory. The flowers, the blue sky, the depths of the ocean, even the dirt shows his marvelous design and can be used to show off one of God's attributes in one way. I think of glory as something shining brighter than you ever thought possible. Perhaps when Jesus rose out of the tomb His glory shone so bright that every inch of that tomb was bathed in that white gold warmth. Perhaps the sun is a portion of God's glory shining over us. It is large, powerful, constant, and warm like God. Just like Him, the glory is too bright to look directly at it. You feel His touch in everything. Nothing and no one can survive without it.
Freewriting is such an effective tool to use in writing. I apologize if grammatically this doesn't make sense. (That's part of freewriting). This was so easy to write, and I love the path this ended up going in. :)
Your comment about the sun reflecting God's glory got me thinking yesterday morning.
ReplyDeleteAbout how the sun's light reflects on the moon, so that it's with us even in darkness, even if it's warmth can't be felt and even if it's not as pleasant as daytime. About how the sun never moves, it's everything else that does, as it's designed to do. We might wonder where the sun went, but then we realize it's been there, all along. Even when we can't see it, even when we can't feel it, even when it's light might be hidden.
Do you see what I mean?
I love how examples can be taken from nature and reflect God in some way.
That's beautiful, Collie! Thanks for sharing. :)
