"So today in devotions, I learned that God loves us so much, no matter how many times we fail, He'll still love us, and nothgin can remove us frm His grace."
"I don't care," Alvin groaned. "That's all you ever talk about now."
Theodore was unaffected. "That's because everything about God is great, and I can't help but talk about Him."
Alvin slung his backpack to his other shoulder. "Well, can you cut back a little, please?"
"I'm sorry, Alvin, I don't ever want you to think of Jesus as annoying."
Eleanor slowed her pace down so she was next to Brittany. "Do you notice anything different about Theodore?"
"You mean, other than the fact that he sounds like a TV evangelist now?"
"I don't mean that. I mean his personality is better. He doesn't get mad as much anymore."
"So?" Brittany shrugged and pulled out her cell phone.
"I think it's that Christianity thing. I never thought being a Christian sounded as exciting as he's making it out to be."
"It's Theodore. He makes everything exciting."
"Still, I think I'm missing something."
Eleanor continued to watch Jeanette and Theodore change, and her curiosity on what she was missing about Christianity grew. Every now and then, she would ask Jeanette a question about church or what she was learning. This interest gave Jeanette hope that at least Eleanor was starting to consider going to church now.
After coming up with excuse after excuse for herself on why she couldn't go to church, Eleanor finally gave in and told her sister that she was free that week. Theodore gave her a huge hug when he found out she was going. The worship part of the service was awkward for her, watching people singing with their eyes closed and hands raised while she stood silently staring at the words on the screen. It wasn't until the sermon that she felt at peace and yet yearned for something more. It was that yearning that brought her back, and after the fourth Sunday, she too accepted.
