Author's Picks for Oct/Nov

The lines for these two months are blurry, so I am combining both months into the top five.  These are basically all my school posts.

5. Day 272: Ballet Memories~ Especially after seeing the Nutcracker for Christmas, this was fun to think about.  I do want to write more about this someday.

4. Day 278-282: Confessions of a Disney Princess Fan~ This is a fun one.

3. Day 266: The Absence of Nature~ One of the my favorite poems I wrote this semester.  Beauty is found in the most unlikely places.

2. Day 256: Reversing Your Mindset~ Again, another thing I struggle with.  It's an important lesson to remember.  This was actually from November.

1. Day 257: That's How I Love~I enjoyed thinking about this, and I liked writing it.  I actually came across something in a book that I was reading that reiterated this, saying "God the Mother" can be seen through specific Hebrew words that were used in the Bible.  God loves us as a mother deeply loves her child.  We can do no wrong, and it hurts Him deeply when we hurt Him.

Author's Picks for September

3. Day 251: Analyzing a Love Triangle~ This was an academic exercise, but this class has stayed with me on views of love and relationships.  It's fun seeing how compatible two characters might be for each other.  It's good to be conscious of what is going on during a relationship too.

2. Day 242: Frenchman's Rock~ My sister and I loved inventing this story.  I think it is uploaded on Fan Fiction now, called Chipmunks of the Atlantic.  It's a Go to the Movies spoof from Pirates of the Caribbean.

1. Day 241: A Losing Battle~ This post is still relatable to me now.

Author's Picks for August

Hopefully that will be the last time I am behind again.  I wanted to spend the rest of the summer writing ideas that I had.  Starting tomorrow, I will go back to prompts.  I will be working on the second list now.  The link to follow along can be found here.

My top five favorites, due to the large month.

5. Day 206: In the Land of Nog~ It was fun inventing this world.

4. Day 200: The Underground Railroad~ I felt connected with the protagonist in my story, and I always enjoyed reading about this part of history, even though it is terribly sad and unjust.

3. Day 204: Sneaking Out of the House~ This is one of my Maple Heights stories.  This story revealed some character traits and backstory to me that I didn't think of before.  I like it when writing unexpected helps me like that.  It's not just mindless babbling but the pieces of a puzzle now.

2. Day 222: Our Best Friend~ I love the idea of the Chipmunks becoming Christians.  While I am not pleased with how this was executed (I pictured it bigger, more drawn out, and more spiritual), I like what the thought of Christianity does to each character.  They are each affected by its introduction and outcome in different ways.

1. Day 216: Comfort~ Another Maple Heights story.  I had some difficulty writing out the idea I had for Robert, but I am pleased with how it turned out.  I feel closer to him now, and he's almost my favorite from the group.

Author's Picks for July

Another big month, so this is my top five favorites again.  I'm pretty pleased with most of my entries this month.

5. Day 189 and 190: Stirring Up Love and Goodworks~ I really liked the idea for this.

4. Day 183: Loss~ I didn't experience a death or anything, but we all have small sorts of losses.  This helped me, and I think I got some pretty writing out of the entry.

3. Day 196: Do You Believe Me?~ This is my first horror-type mystery story, and it was fun writing.  Hopefully it kept you guessing too.

2. Day 191: Obsessed Over The Princess Bride~ When I sat down to write this, I was inspired with ideas and excited over my new favorite romance story.  It's things that move people the most that make the best impacts, and that's what happened with me.  I couldn't stop writing it until I had finished writing out my ideas, and I got a little carried away.  It might not be as accurate as I thought (since there was more written afterwards), but I enjoyed it a lot.  Plus, parts of it could still apply after Buttercup's Baby.

1.  Day 194: The Dawn and Day 195: Swept Away~ These are my favorites this past month because the atmosphere and mood I was in were so special.  They may not be perfect, but I like what they say.

Author's Picks for January

I've been doing this for a month now.  Wow!  A huge thank you to anyone who took the time to read my posts!  Every month, I think I'm going to end with choosing my favorite posts of the month.

1. Day 13: The Thump     I can relate to this one personally.  It helped me when I wrote it, and I'm quite pleased with the finished product.

2. Day 24: Pastor's Secret      This one was fun to write.  It felt like this is one of my more polished stories.  I even unintentionally wrote a metaphor in there.  :)

3. Day 11: Longing for More     This is another one I enjoyed writing.  I liked thinking about the woman's past, and it seemed to put her in the right state of mind to receive inspiration from Jesus.

What were your favorites?
